1. EXPERIENCES ON SYPHILIS IN THE CITY OF TUSKEGEE
The US public health service deliberately introduced black farmers with syphilis into the heart of a small US town to study its effects. Infected persons developed severe deformities of the skin and some even died. It would appear that the government did not wish to inform them that STI had been injected. The experiment lasted almost 40 years, from 1932 to 1970 and thus saw several successive presidential mandates. Perhaps they were not aware that they themselves had allowed the deliberate infection of American citizens.
